Although Roxas was not a pure-blooded wizard he showed great interest in magic, always asking his father to teach him spells or show him how to make a potion. He was always eager to gain as much knowledge of the magical world as he could. But no matter how many times he asked, his father would say it was against the rules to let a underaged wizard do magic outside of school. At his young age, Roxas didn't understand what he meant, except that his father wasn't going to teach him how to do anything.
Being an only child, Roxas didn't know what to expect in a normal public school. He didn't want to go to the public school, but he knew he didn't have a choice. Once, he'd gotten up enough courage to steal one of his father's old text books so that he could read it behind his muggle school's text book.
It was at the age of nine that his life suddenly screeched to a stop when he'd found out that his father had died doing his job as a Auror. It was the last thing he ever expected to happen. The funeral was all a blurr to him, it's not like he wanted to remember something like that. His mother went into a depression not too long after the funeral, Roxas hoped it would pass quickly, he didn't like seeing his mother like that. But he learned that he wouldn't be able to see that. He was also in the car that took his mother's life.
He was lucky to be alive, that's what the doctor told him, but he didn't see it that way. He came out with a bad head injury, one that diagnosed him with Amnesia. He could remember who he was but that was it. He couldn't remember his parents or any of his friends, nor did he remember being a wizard.
From there Roxas was placed with a foster family, they were nice people who cared about him. Although, they were a bit shocked and confused when he got his letter from Hogwarts, they didn't mind. Actually, they thought the whole thing was very interesting.
